After three games on the road, Battle is heading back home. They will be home for the holidays to greet the Benton Cardinals at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Battle is ranked 82nd, while Benton is ranked 93rd).
Even though Kickapoo scored an imposing 61 points on Saturday, Battle still came out on top. Battle sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 63-61 victory over Kickapoo.
Tayla Robinson and Jaelynn Green were among the main playmakers for Battle as the former scored 18 points along with three steals and the latter scored 16 points. The matchup was Robinson's third in a row with at least ten points. Jaleah Brookins was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Benton's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 45-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bellevue West. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Benton has scored all season.
Battle is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season. As for Benton, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.
