Pioneer recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Phoenixville, who took down 185th ranked Phoenixville, 35-19.
Pottsgrove's Nick Brennan recorded the longest rushing play in Pioneer this season in his game against Boyertown last week. Brennan's team beat the Bears as he sprinted for 76 yards on the play and finished with 114 in all.
Hank Coyne and Yousef Lundi gave Spring-Ford a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Coyne threw for 137 yards and three touchdowns, while Lundi ran for 124 yards. Tate Carter also contributed to the rushing game with 43 yards on the ground.
Tory Hudgins provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Pottsgrove defeated Boyertown. He completed two passes for 53 yards and also ran for 116 yards. Hudgins' favorite target this week was Michael Fowler, who caught one pass for 33 yards.
Ryan Yenchick was the best wideout in the league this week as the Phantoms fell to Owen J. Roberts. Yenchick racked up two receptions for 61 yards. Ryan Pannella helped Phoenixville's passing attack out by catching three balls for 37 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Sage Reinhart and Monroe Hampton Pottstown has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Reinhart leads the league in passing with 1070 yards, while Hampton has rushed for 686 yards this season. Pope John Paul II's Chris Veisbergs leads the league in receiving yards with 273 on eight catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Spring-Ford takes on second place Pottsgrove. Last week, the Rams bested Upper Perkiomen, while Rick Pennypacker's team defeated Mark Scisly's team.

There should be lots of points scored when Spring-Ford and the Falcons face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Rams comes in having scored 168 this season, while Pottsgrove has scored 200. Spring-Ford scored 42 points last week as it bested Upper Perkiomen.
The Rams extended the longest winning streak in Pioneer this week by beating Steve Moyer's team, 42-6. The win marks fourth in a row for the Spring-Ford.
