The Warren Warriors will face off against the Eastern Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Warren's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They came out on top against Gallia Academy by a score of 5-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Warriors.
The team relied heavily on DeLaney Gates, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Warren was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .467. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Eastern entered their tilt with Belpre on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 5-4 W against the Golden Eagles.
Ashlynn Thomas 2027 spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Eastern let Emma Putman 2025 and Aedre Ault 2028 run wild. Putman 2025 went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Ault 2028 went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Rylie White 2027, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Eastern's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Warren, their win bumped their record up to 7-10.
Warren took their victory against Eastern in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 15-9 score. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
