The biggest upset of the week belonged to Monte Vista, who took down 456th ranked El Capitan, 38-28.
The Monarchs moved up to 507 from 556 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Grossmont - Valley. Monte Vista climbed the ranks as a result of topping the Vaqueros 38-28.
Mount Miguel's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brad Moreno threw for 179 yards and Devon Jackson had 77 yards receiving. On the ground Tony Dozier chipped in 145 yards. Jovon Richardson helped Mount Miguel's passing attack out by catching three balls for 61 yards.
Santana's Gabe Kruse and Tyler Browning have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Kruse has thrown for 896 yards this season, while Browning, a 6-foot-0 receiver, has 33 catches for 462 yards. The Matadors' Dozier leads the league in rushing yards with 1255.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when El Capitan takes on El Cajon Valley. At the moment, Ron Burner's team is in third, while the Braves are in fourth.
Ron Hamamotto's team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 6,481 from 7,400. The advance stemmed from a 38-28 victory over the Vaqueros last week.
