Softball Recap: Essex Wins Going Away Against Franklin

Essex's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. Everything went their way against the Franklin Broncos as they made off with an 18-8 win. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by nine runs or more this season.

Tai'Leah Cowles was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Cowles was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI.

In other batting news, Macey Revere was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Octavia Floyd, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Essex's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Franklin, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Essex beat the Broncos by a score of 17-3 later that day.
