Baseball Recap: Fulton Has No Trouble Against Merrill

Fulton owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Merrill Vandals with a sharp 6-0 win. Considering the Pirates have won 20 matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Carson Litwiller was incredible, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Parker Billings, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

The victory made it two in a row for Fulton and bumps their season record up to 28-6. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Merrill, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 11-9-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fulton will welcome New Lothrop at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Pirates are facing the Hornets at the right time seeing as the Hornets are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Merrill, they will square off against St. Charles at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
