The McLean Tigers won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Friday. They were outmatched by Follett on the road and fell 53-23. McLean has not had much luck with Follett recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Despite the loss, McLean still got an impressive performance from Jayvon Salazar, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. Salazar has been hot recently, having posted ten or more rebounds the last 11 times he's played.
Maddox Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Follett, scoring 19 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Miller is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 19 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of David Meeks, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
McLean's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Follett, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 18-7.
McLean will head out on the road to face off against Fort Elliott at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully McLean focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Friday. As for Follett, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lefors at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in Follett's favor as the team sits on 14 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while Lefors has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
