The Sipsey Valley Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight defeat. They were outmatched by Hale County on the road and fell 47-20. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sipsey Valley in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now lost eight in a row.
Hale County got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kynaja Marshall out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds. Marshall continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Lailah Hill was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Sipsey Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Hale County, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-5.
Sipsey Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Hale County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Patriots at 1:45 p.m. on January 30th. Hillcrest is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
