The Shadow Mountain Matadors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fourth straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 42-21 defeat at the hands of Moon Valley. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Shadow Mountain has suffered since January 10th.
Despite the loss, Shadow Mountain saw an underclassman step up: Cheyenne Hanna scored nine points along with two steals and two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Brinley Lensch, who scored six points along with ten rebounds.
Shadow Mountain's loss was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.6 points per game. As for Moon Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-10.
Shadow Mountain will head out on the road to face off against Yuma at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Yuma comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 21 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Moon Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Paradise Honors at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Paradise Honors knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three games -- so hopefully Moon Valley likes a good challenge.
