It was a good run, but the Hightstown Rams unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Saturday. They suffered a rough 84-61 loss at the hands of Cross Christian Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (58), Hightstown still had to take the loss.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cross Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tavaris Hall, who scored 19 points. Those 19 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Brewington, who scored 18 points.
Hightstown's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Cross Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hightstown will take on Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Princeton is ranked 140th, while Hightstown is ranked 150th). Cross Christian Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Phelps at 4:00 p.m. on January 10th.
