The East Lake Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Northeast Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. East Lake is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.3 runs per game this season.
East Lake's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over River Ridge. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

03/04/25 vs Largo | 1 |
02/28/25 vs Oakleaf | 2 |
02/28/25 vs Middleburg | 0 |
02/26/25 vs Sickles | 1 |
The result came thanks to Lucy Mondok's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Meagan Bostak, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-4. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Northeast hadn't done well against Dunedin recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way last Tuesday. Northeast won by a run and slipped past Dunedin 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted since March 1, 2024.
Danielle Brunner spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Ava Twinam was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. Lauren Fernald also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
East Lake pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Northeast, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-2.
Both East Lake and Northeast just can't seem to miss. East Lake has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.1 hits per game. However, it's not like Northeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 5.4 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
East Lake skirted past Northeast 4-3 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for East Lake since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
