The North Mesquite Stallions's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They blew past Adams 60-38. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as North Mesquite just coasted through the last quarter.
Christian Brooks had a dynamite game for North Mesquite, almost dropping a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds. Jeremiah Grigsby was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with six rebounds and five assists.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Altrie Farris, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Keiontay Marsh, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Adams struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
North Mesquite has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-12 record this season. As for Adams, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 13 of their last 17 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-18 record this season.
North Mesquite will head out on the road to take on the Timberwolves at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spruce is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Adams, they will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wranglers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Mesquite presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Cougars in Texas (the Wranglers are ranked 177th, while the Cougars are ranked 759th).
