The Bradshaw Christian Pride will square off against the Woodland Wolves at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Bradshaw Christian turned things around against Nevada Union on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Miners 13-12. Considering the Pride's hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Lexi Ortiz made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4. Those runs were her first of the season.
Ortiz wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kaylee Hand, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Hand a new career-high in RBI (three). Gabby Escobar was another, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Woodland, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. Everything went their way against Winters on Tuesday as Woodland made off with a 12-1 win. The Wolves' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Like Bradshaw Christian, Woodland also got a great game from a two-way player: Addy Tetreault. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and only one walk). Tetreault has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.
In other batting news, Woodland let Presley Penegar and Izzy Loesch run wild. Penegar went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run, while Loesch scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Sofia Sanchez, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.
Woodland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bradshaw Christian's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Woodland, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Woodland's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Bradshaw Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Woodland, though, as they've been averaging only 3.8 strikeouts. Will Bradshaw Christian keep running through batters, or will Woodland buck the trend?
