Basketball Recap: HALO Drops Season-High Score on Covington Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask HALO). They blew past the Covington Academy Bulldogs 84-55 on Tuesday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-20.

HALO's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Trenton Grissom led the charge by dropping a double-double on 36 points and 13 boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Grissom has scored at least a third of HALO's points. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Haynes, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 22 rebounds.

HALO is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.2 points per game. As for Covington Academy, they dropped their record down to 6-7 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

HALO will face off against Promise Prepatory Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Promise Prepatory Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully HALO likes a good challenge. As for Covington Academy, they will take on Milledgeville Athletic Club at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Milledgeville Athletic Club will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something Covington Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
