Basketball Recap: Landen Perry Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Freeburg

Marissa/Coulterville's tournament run continued when they took on Freeburg on Thursday. The Marissa/Coulterville Meteors managed a 60-55 win over the Freeburg Midgets. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Meteors.

Marissa/Coulterville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landen Perry, who posted 12 points. The dominant performance gave Perry a new career-high in points. Hayden Steinwagner was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Several Midgets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Matt Pluff, who went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jase Brentlinger, who scored 19 points.

Marissa/Coulterville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.6 points per game. As for Freeburg, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-14.

Marissa/Coulterville wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 41-36 defeat against Trico on the 25th. Freeburg has also already played their next matchup, a 51-47 loss against Red Bud on the 25th.
