The biggest upset of the week belonged to Purvis, who took down 48th ranked McComb, 42-35. Nathan Roseberry threw for 51 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 219 yards in the win.
Columbia extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 7 this week by beating North Pike, 34-20. The victory was the sixth in a row for the Wildcats.
Markell Pack was a beast in the backfield as the Tornadoes bested the Tigers.
Alex Woodall threw for 298 yards and 3 touchdowns. He went 9-16 with 1 interception.
Larkin Walker was the best wideout in the league this week as McComb fell to Purvis. Walker racked up 5 receptions for 198 yards. Daquan Smith helped McComb's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 65 yards.
Malcolm Jones' team's Woodall and Walker led the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-4 quarterback Woodall has thrown for 1,637 yards this season, while Walker has 33 catches for 589 yards. The Jaguars' Lakedric Lee leads the league in rushing yards with 1,079.
Fans will be thrilled by an exciting game in the secondary when the Tigers' Walker goes up against North Pike's Ladarrius Coney.
Roseberry of the Perry Wheat's team is only 86 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 128 carries Roseberry has accumulated 914 yard this year.
Next week's game between McComb and Chris Smith's team will feature a good passing match up as Woodall will test his arm against Coney's defensive ability.
One of 4A Region 7's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when the Tigers and the Jaguars face off next week.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Columbia takes on Lawrence County. Walter Denton's team is in second place, while the Cougars are in fifth place.
The league will see a high scoring game when McComb and North Pike face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Tigers comes in having scored 260 this season, while the Jaguars have scored 246. McComb scored 35 points last week as it fell to the Tornadoes.
The Eagles fell to Lawrence County 31-12 last week, the largest margin of any game. Jaxavian Holmes ran for 64 yards in the defeat.
