Carvers Bay has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the East Clarendon Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Carvers Bay's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Last Tuesday, Carvers Bay didn't have too much trouble with Johnsonville at home as they won 63-46.
Carvers Bay found their leader in underclassman Kenard Heyward, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Heyward has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kenneth Bateman, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
Meanwhile, East Clarendon earned a 46-39 victory over Hemingway on Tuesday. The win was just what East Clarendon needed coming off of a 58-36 defeat in their prior game.
Carvers Bay has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for East Clarendon, their win ended a 13-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-16.
Everything went Carvers Bay's way against East Clarendon in their previous matchup last Wednesday as Carvers Bay made off with a 58-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carvers Bay since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
