The Moon Valley Rockets were the 42-11 winner over the Shadow Mountain Matadors when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Moon Valley fell 41-29 to Shadow Mountain on Thursday. Moon Valley has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Brinley Lensch was the offensive standout of the game as she dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. That's the first time this season that she scored 15 or more points. Cheyenne Hanna was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six steals.
Moon Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Shadow Mountain, their win ended a 14-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-12.
Moon Valley will head out on the road to take on Paradise Honors at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Paradise Honors will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Shadow Mountain will take on Yuma at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
