Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Chicopee Comp). They blew past the Palmer Panthers 21-9 on Sunday. The Colts not only won on Sunday, but they posted their biggest win since April 24, 2024 (when they won 19-3).
Chicopee Comp got a massive performance out of Ari Chagnon, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those two stolen bases gave Chagnon a new career-high. Marissa Vasquez was another key player, going 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chicopee Comp kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmer only managed five hits.
Chicopee Comp's victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-13. As for Palmer, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chicopee Comp will head out to square off against Central at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Palmer, they will take on Smith Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
