The Beaufort Academy Eagles took care of business in their home opener on Monday. They strolled past Bridges Prep with points to spare, taking the game 53-36. That's another feather in the cap for Beaufort Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Bridges Prep's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zariyah Henry, who scored 4 points along with 18 rebounds and 3 steals. Henry is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games she's played. Raelynn Reeves was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds.
Beaufort Academy's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Bridges Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Beaufort Academy will take on Cross Schools at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bridges Prep, they will head out on the road to face off against Memorial Day at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
