After two games on the road, Liberal is heading back home. They will take on the Great Bend Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Liberal had to suffer through a rough 75-37 loss at the hands of the Bulldogs. Liberal has not had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Zayden Martinez put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. He hasn't dropped below two steals for four straight games. J. Brooks Kappelmann was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Great Bend came up short against the Indians on Friday and fell 59-47.
Liberal's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Great Bend, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
Liberal lost to the Panthers at home by a decisive 74-56 margin when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Liberal avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
