There's no place like home for the Woodville Eagles, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They rang in the new year with a 64-52 win over Diboll on Friday. This was payback for Woodville, who suffered a 68-44 loss the last time these two teams met.
Defeat or not, Diboll got some senior leadership from Malachai Mitchell who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and Jadarian Kennerew who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds. The game was Kennerew's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Zach Mitchell, who scored 11 points.
Woodville's win bumped their record up to 11-13. As for Diboll, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Woodville will take on Pollok Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pollok Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Woodville in Texas (Pollok Central is ranked 455th, while Woodville is ranked 979th). As for Diboll, they will be playing at home against Newton at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
