Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up ten more assists than your opponent, a fact the Foothill Cougars proved on Tuesday. They strolled past Chico with points to spare, taking the game 68-53. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Foothill.
Foothill had a senior duo take command as Tyler Zanhiser scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and five steals and Asa Arnold scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. Zanhiser has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Van Warren was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Despite the loss, Chico still got an impressive performance from Adam Brott, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Costantino Thompson, who scored six points along with five steals.
Foothill has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for Chico, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-11.
Foothill will head out on the road to challenge Red Bluff at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Foothill knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully Red Bluff likes a good challenge. As for Chico, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Pleasant Valley at 7:30 p.m. Pleasant Valley will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Chico surely won't give up without a fight.
