Battle stacked an eighth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Capital City 81-56. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Tate Mccubbin was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-8 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Vernell Holt, who scored 14 points.
After soaring to a 42-point victory in their last game, Helias came back down to earth on Monday. They fell just short of De Smet Jesuit by a score of 55-52. Helias has not had much luck with De Smet Jesuit recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Battle is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Helias, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-5.
