Zach Jones was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.
Jones wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Anthony Myer, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and two RBI. Eric Alonso also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Lower Lake's record is now 0-7. As for St. Helena, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
