Adding to the longest winning streak in California - North (8 Man) this week, Dunsmuir beat Redding Christian 28-20. The victory was the eighth in a row for the Tigers.
Elk Creek lost to Big Valley 64-14 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Trako Saluskin provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Tulelake fell to Hayfork. He completed 15 passes for 197 yards and 3 touchdowns and also ran for 91 yards. Saluskin's favorite target this week was Coby Taylor, who caught 5 passes for 71 yards.
Dayton Pepperdine was a force in the backfield as Dunsmuir defeated the Lions.
Edgar Castellanos threw for 124 yards and 65 touchdowns.
Frankie Aventino was the best receiver in the league this week as Redding Christian lost to Chris Ballard's team. Aventino racked up 3 receptions for 83 yards. Jesse Dabbs helped Redding Christian's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 30 yards.
The Honkers' Saluskin and Taylor have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 5-10 quarterback Saluskin has thrown for 935 yards this season, while Taylor has 14 catches for 418 yards. Stephen Dabbs' team's Hayden Piper leads the league in rushing yards with 1,331.
The Cardinals' Ben Torres is a mere 6 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 86 carries Torres has put up 994 yards this year.
As it stands, the Timberjacks are in third, while the Tigers are in first.
There should be lots of points scored when Hayfork and Dunsmuir face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Randy Harrison's team comes in having scored 404 this season, while the Tigers have scored 412. The Timberjacks scored 40 points last week as they beat Tulelake.
