Even though the James Kenan Tigers scored an imposing 58 points on Tuesday, the Southern Wayne Saints still came out on top. Southern Wayne narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past James Kenan 60-58. The win made it back-to-back wins for Southern Wayne.
Kairel Evans continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 4 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyquavious Williams, who scored 9 points along with 13 rebounds.
The win got Southern Wayne back to even at 2-2. As for James Kenan, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Southern Wayne will head out on the road to face off against Eastern Wayne at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. As for James Kenan, they will be playing at home against North Duplin at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
