Zeigler-Royalton pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to Egyptian.
Despite the defeat, Zeigler-Royalton had strong showings from River Freeman, who scored 17 points, and Peyton Foster, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Chase VanHoorebeke, who scored nine points.
Trico can finally bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They came out on top against Christopher by a score of 57-47 (the very same score they lost by the week prior).
Zeigler-Royalton has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season. As for Trico, their win bumped their record up to 4-22.
Zeigler-Royalton won a match that couldn't have been any closer when the teams last played back in December of 2023, slipping by the Pioneers 54-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for Zeigler-Royalton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
