The Cary Imps lost against the Athens Drive Jaguars back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Cary fell just short of Athens Drive by a score of 47-44. Cary has struggled against Athens Drive recently, as their game on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Imps players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nadia Snesarev, who scored 17 points along with 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Snesarev scored a full 38.6% of Cary's points, the second time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Riley Garner was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with 6 rebounds.
Cary's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Athens Drive, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 1-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cary will challenge Broughton at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Broughton is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Athens Drive, they will head out on the road to face off against Green Level at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
