On Tuesday, Elkton strolled past the Dragons with points to spare, taking the game 47-28. The win was all the more spectacular given Elkton's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 225th in Maryland, while the Dragons are ranked 53rd in Delaware).
Elkton was led to victory by LeeAnn Pugh and Jayla Payne. Pugh scored 16 points, while Payne scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Payne has scored all season.
Elkton pushed their record up to 5-11 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Glasgow, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elkton will challenge the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Glasgow, they will head out on the road to take on the Hornets at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
