The New Hope Christian Warriors will look to defend their home court on Friday against the Myrtle Point Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
In what's become a running theme this season, New Hope Christian gave their fans yet another huge victory on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Crosspoint Christian 55-12 on the road. Given New Hope Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 101st, while Crosspoint Christian is ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
New Hope Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avarly Barnett, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it 13 consecutive games in which Barnett has scored at least a third of New Hope Christian's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Zumhofe, who almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Myrtle Point entered their tilt with Days Creek with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Myrtle Point narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Days Creek 41-38.
New Hope Christian's win bumped their record up to 22-2. As for Myrtle Point, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-6.
