After two games on the road, St. Francis is heading back home. They will take on the North Monterey County Condors at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
St. Francis pushed their score all the way to 66 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 73-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Seaside. St. Francis has not had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Loss or not, St. Francis got some senior leadership from Sam Braun and Joseph Rose. Braun scored 21 points, while Rose. scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Braun hasn't dropped below 19 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Jimenez, who scored eight points.
Even though they lost, St. Francis were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, North Monterey County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell 46-39 to Stevenson.
St. Francis has been struggling recently as they've lost 15 of their last 16 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-20 record this season. As for North Monterey County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
St. Francis came out on top in a nail-biter against the Condors in their previous meeting back in January, sneaking past 58-56. Does St. Francis have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Condors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
