Llano has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Blanco Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Llano knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully the Panthers like a good challenge.
A well-balanced attack led Llano over the Warriors in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Llano put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 58-34 win. Given Llano's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 416th, while the Warriors are ranked 976th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Weston Baker continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points. He hasn't dropped below 18 points for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Alex Kachura, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Blanco waltzed into their game on Friday with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Brady by a score of 44-31.
Llano's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-6. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points per game. As for Blanco, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-10 record this season.
Llano didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against the Panthers when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 49-45 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Llano since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
