After flying high against the South Bend Career Academy Trailblazers last Saturday, the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies came back down to earth. Plymouth took a hard 74-59 fall against La Porte on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Plymouth's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Preston Wolfe, who scored 14 points. The contest was Wolfe's third in a row with at least ten points. Coby Walters was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Even though they lost, Plymouth were working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Porte only racked up 20.
Rylan Kieszkowski had an outrageously good game for La Porte as he went 7 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 34 points and 3 assists. That makes it two consecutive games in which Kieszkowski has scored at least 25% of La Porte's points. Another player making a difference was Griffin Ott-Large, who scored 17 points along with 9 assists.
Plymouth's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for La Porte, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plymouth will take on Jimtown at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jimtown will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 287th, while Plymouth is ranked 127th). As for La Porte, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on New Prairie at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Hopefully New Prairie focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Friday.
