Covenant Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They were beaten by Trinity Christian 87-36. While losing is never fun, Covenant Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Trinity Christian is ranked 238th).
Blake Bartow was Covenant Academy's leading scorer, having posted ten points.
Ryan Stevens held things down on the boards with five rebounds. He took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with an assist.
Trinity Christian's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Hayden Clay, who scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Will George, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Covenant Academy dropped their record down to 4-10 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Trinity Christian, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Covenant Academy will take on Central Fellowship Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Averaging 61.7 so far this season, Central Fellowship Christian Academy's high-powered offense has been in full-swing lately, so Covenant Academy better be ready for a challenge. As for Trinity Christian, Trinity Christian and Windsor Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Windsor Academy is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 66.7 points per game.
