The Wayne Blue Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 54-43 to North Bend Central. Wayne has not had much luck with North Bend Central recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Wayne's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haley Kramer, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Claire Lutter, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Wayne has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for North Bend Central, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Wayne will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Norfolk Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. North Bend Central will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Wisner-Pilger at 6:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Wisner-Pilger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
