Kings Mountain has gone a perfect 10-0 against Crest recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Mountaineers will head out to square off against the Chargers at 6:00 p.m. Kings Mountain will be looking to extend their current 21-game winning streak.
On Thursday, Kings Mountain got the win against Huss by a conclusive 3-0.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Kings Mountain took every set by at least 22 points. The final score came out to 25-3, 25-3, 25-2.
Meanwhile, Crest made easy work of Ashbrook on Thursday and carried off a 3-0 win.
Crest's got stronger as the match went on, holding Ashbrook to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-9, 25-6.
Crest found their leader in sophomore Casey Goodrum, who had ten digs and two assists.
Crest was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 17 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least 17 aces in three consecutive matches.
Kings Mountain's victory bumped their record up to 29-1. As for Crest, they now have a winning record of 14-13.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Tuesday's matchup: Kings Mountain has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 8.5 aces per game. However, it's not like Crest struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.9 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everything went Kings Mountain's way against Crest in their previous matchup back in September, as Kings Mountain made off with a 3-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountaineers since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
