After flying high against the Furlow Charter School Falcons on Tuesday, the Crawford County Eagles came back down to earth. Crawford County fell just short of Twiggs County by a score of 44-41. Crawford County has struggled against Twiggs County recently, as their contest on Friday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Despite the loss, Crawford County still got an impressive performance from Mareo Slaton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Slaton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jamahl Willis, who scored 11 points along with 9 rebounds.
Tykerrion Williams was the offensive standout of the contest as he scored 20 points. Rikenzel Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring 7 points.
Crawford County's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Twiggs County, the victory got them back to even at 1-1.
Crawford County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Taylor County at 7:30 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Twiggs County, they will head out on the road to face off against Hawkinsville at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday.
