The Therrell Panthers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against Business Engineering Science Tech by a score of 66-56 on Tuesday. With that win, Therrell brought their scoring average up to 50.1 points per game.
Therrell's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morion Mcwhorter led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and 16 rebounds. Mcwhorter has been hot recently, having posted two or more blocks the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Taylor, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds.
Therrell's win bumped their record up to 4-16. As for Business Engineering Science Tech, their loss was their tenth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-16.
Therrell will take on KIPP Atlanta Collegiate at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Business Engineering Science Tech, they will head out on the road to face off against Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
