The Eisenhower Cadets were the 76-47 winner over the Eastmont Wildcats when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Eisenhower was beaten by Eastmont 68-34 on Saturday. While losing is never fun, Eisenhower can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Eastmont is ranked 73rd).
Despite the loss, Eisenhower still got an impressive performance from Ayana Gallegos, who scored 13 points.
Eisenhower bumped their record down to 2-7 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Eastmont, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Eisenhower will be playing at home against Hermiston at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hermiston knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully Eisenhower likes a good challenge. Eastmont and Wenatchee will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wenatchee has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 9.
