Tionna Pettus and Kionna Pettus certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Pettus dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds, while Pettus dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds. Pettus is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Janyla Jeffries was another key contributor, scoring four points.
Leading Thomas Jefferson to victory were Brooklyn Twitty and Samara Jones. Twitty dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Jones scored 16 points along with six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Twitty has scored at least 25% of Thomas Jefferson's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Jones, who scored six points.
Bessemer City has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Thomas Jefferson, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home.
