Laurel's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Demerius Custis, who threw for 106 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 44 yards. That's the most rushing yards Custis has posted since back in September of 2024. Defeat or not, Blake got some senior leadership from Michael Rosius and Junior Rodriguez. Rosius rushed for 80 yards and one touchdown, while Rodriguez rushed for 66 yards and one score on only six carries.
Laurel's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-4. As for Blake, their loss dropped their record down to an identical 5-4.
