Ocoee hasn't had much luck against West Orange recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Knights are taking a road trip to face off against the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Ocoee is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
West Orange will be up against a hot Ocoee squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. The Knights put the hurt on Umatilla with a sharp 12-2 victory on Thursday. The result was nothing new for the Knights, who have now won six matches by ten runs or more so far this season.
Amber Vance was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Ocoee got a massive performance out of Kylie Holden, who scored four runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Holden continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Trista Fitzpatrick was another key player, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI and one double.
Ocoee always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They are 7-2 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 18 runs the game before, West Orange was a bit more limited in their game on Wednesday. They came up short against Windermere, falling 15-0. The Warriors haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Ocoee pushed their record up to 8-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for West Orange, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-9.
West Orange's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Ocoee has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for West Orange, though, as they've been averaging 10.4 hits. Given Ocoee's sizable advantage in that area, the Warriors will need to find a way to close that gap.
Ocoee took their win against West Orange in their previous meeting back in February by a conclusive 20-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
