The Ellis Railroaders scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Ness City and snuck past 66-63. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Toby Honas was nothing short of spectacular: he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 19 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaren Frickey, who scored 19 points.
Ellis' victory ended a eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 6-10. As for Ness City, their loss dropped their record down to 5-11.
Ellis will head out on the road to take on Oakley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ellis has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Ness City, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Otis-Bison at 7:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Kansas (Otis-Bison is ranked 307th, while Ness City is ranked 287th).
