Fruita Monument is 9-1 against Grand Junction since January of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fruita Monument Wildcats will look to defend their home court against the Grand Junction Tigers at 5:30 p.m. Hopefully Fruita Monument is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Grand Junction in Colorado (Fruita Monument is ranked 29th, while Grand Junction is ranked 207th).
Last Tuesday, Fruita Monument strolled past Palisade with points to spare, taking the game 60-41. The win made it back-to-back wins for Fruita Monument.
Fruita Monument can attribute much of their success to Addison Eyre, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, and Olivia Campbell, who scored 29 points along with four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Campbell has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Grand Junction lost to Eagle Valley on the road by a decisive 55-38 margin on Tuesday. Grand Junction has not had much luck with Eagle Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Fruita Monument pushed their record up to 10-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.67 points. As for Grand Junction, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-8.
Everything came up roses for Fruita Monument against Grand Junction when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 69-13 victory. Will Fruita Monument repeat their success, or does Grand Junction have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
