The Loyola Academy Ramblers will be staying on the road  on Wednesday to face off against the Lane Tech Champions at 4:45  p.m. Loyola Academy will be strutting in after a  win while Lane Tech will be coming in after a  loss.
 Loyola Academy will roll into the  matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any  runs  on Thursday, then bounced right back against Saint Ignatius College Prep  on Monday. Everything went Loyola Academy's way against Saint Ignatius College Prep as Loyola Academy made off with  a  13-7 victory.
  Hunter Lewis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she  pitched three innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   two  hits. Lewis has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts in three consecutive pitching appearances. Lewis was also big at the plate,  going 4-for-4 with two  triples, three  runs,  and a  double.
 In other batting news,  Gwen Coleman was  incredible,  going 1-for-3 with a  home run and three  RBI.  Sophie Wilhelm was another key contributor,  going 3-for-4 with  an  RBI.
 Meanwhile,  Lane Tech unfortunately witnessed the end of their  six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell  15-11 to Vernon Hills.
  Emma Dow was cooking despite her team's loss,   scoring three  runs and  stealing three bases while  getting on base  in four of her five plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of  Eden Harris, who  went 2-for-4 with two  RBI and a  double.
 The  win  got Loyola Academy back to even at 9-9. As for Lane Tech, their defeat  ended  a  five-game streak of away wins  and  brought them to 14-7.
 Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging  on Wednesday. Loyola Academy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season,  having  averaged 0.9  home runs per game. However, it's not like Lane Tech struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 0.6. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
 Loyola Academy might still be hurting after the  18-7 loss they got from Lane Tech  in their previous meeting  back in April of 2022. Can Loyola Academy avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
