Winnebago came out on top against South Sioux City by a score of 57-46. The win made it back-to-back wins for Winnebago.
Winnebago was led to victory by Lavelle Smith and Timothy Lapointe. Smith scored 19 points along with seven rebounds, while Lapointe dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lapointe has scored at least 25% of Winnebago's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cashus Kearnes, who scored seven points along with six rebounds.
The win got Winnebago back to even at 3-3. As for South Sioux City, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Winnebago will head out on the road to face off against Norfolk Catholic at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Norfolk Catholic focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Friday. South Sioux City will be home for the holidays to greet Cedar Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Catholic presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Sioux City in Nebraska (Cedar Catholic is ranked 61st, while South Sioux City is ranked 264th).
