Morrow is 0-5 against the Cardinals since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Morrow Mustangs will be playing at home against the Jonesboro Cardinals at 5:30 p.m.
Morrow has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 59-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rockdale County.
Even though Jonesboro has not done well against the Panthers recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Jonesboro breezed by the Panthers at home to the tune of 60-14. Given Jonesboro's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 217th, while the Panthers are ranked 484th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Jonesboro found their leader in underclassman Naislyvia Pringle, who scored 16 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christian Wright, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Morrow's loss dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Jonesboro, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-9.
