The Avon Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Avon Lake Shoremen at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Avon will be strutting in after a win while Avon Lake will be coming in after a defeat.
While Avon's victory against Bay wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 win over the Rockets on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Eagles.

Blake Elder looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March.
At the plate, Sam Spike was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Andrew Falasco, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, while it was Avon Lake who put the first runs on the board on Saturday, it was Westlake who put up more. The Shoremen fell just short of the Demons by a score of 12-11. While the Shoremen didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Demons 4-0 in the first period.
Chase Cartwright made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Adam McFadden was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Avon Lake dropped their record down to 13-9 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Avon, their victory bumped their record up to 8-10.
Avon came out on top in a nail-biter against Avon Lake when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 5-3. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Shoremen turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
