Rowland Hall has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Waterford Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
Last Tuesday, Rowland Hall took a serious blow against the Eagles, falling 66-16. While losing is never fun, Rowland Hall can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 132nd, while the Eagles are ranked 37th).
Meanwhile, Waterford was beaten by the Eagles 94-40 on Thursday. Waterford has struggled against the Eagles recently, as their match on Thursday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
Rowland Hall dropped their record down to 2-12 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 20.0 points per game. As for Waterford, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.
Things could have been worse for Rowland Hall, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-25 loss to the Ravens when the teams last played back in January. Can Rowland Hall avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
